The following photos were taken using a custom pulse burst generator that allows a high frequency burst of 1 nanosecond pulses at differing repetition retes to be put into the PV16 to verify function.
The top white trace is the output of he test pulse generator as seen by a 3 GHz Tektronix oscilloscope. The second green trace shows the gate width. The bottom blue trace is the output of the PV16
The trace overlap is determined by the length of the cables, and there is some small distortion presented to the PV16 because the test pulser is split into the oscilloscope and the PV16.
The burst when combined with the gate allows collection of photons without large dead times by only counting during the gate width.
